In the vein of American Horror Story, Darcey Girl drags the darkness into a murdered mothers mirror, which her daughter uses to even the score against her own monsters!
Oh... is it? Thank you. I was just one of those stories that basically went, Hi, I'm here and was just so fun to write. Thank you for your compliment. I have thought about putting it in MM, but I don't quite know how to and was a bit worried it wasn't good enough.
It's absolutely good enough. This was a thoroughly unsettling read, a fantastic haunting style story and the choice to write it phonetically in Darcy's voice lent an extra layer of immersion and connection to the story.
As for how to submit it, it's as simple as restacking it on Monday, saying it's your submission for Macabre Monday, and then tagging people. You can also ask Maribel about adding your name to the list of those tagged, as she's been maintaining an up-to-date list of active participants. Easiest way to mass tag is to copy the list of names off someone's post, (remembering to add theirs, too) and then paste it with CTRL+SHIFT+V. That'll copy it as plain text. At that point, you just have to go name by name and add the tags as Substack confirms them. It's admittedly a little tedious, but it's the easiest way we've found without there being a simple hashtag or mass tagging option present.
Holy Crap! That was so riveting I kept asking, "Is this real? Or is it Memorex?" How deep does the phyche go? Keep this up and you'll rival the Old Stephen King as a macabre writer.
BTW, you should try for Macabre Monday's. you've got a gift.
Oh yes, I ain't going near any mirrors for a few days... nope, not me.

Thank you, I'll do that this week. And thank you for your comments. Made my day.
The American Horror Story analogy is apt. This material definitely reminds me of the show.
Thank you, that’s a huge compliment.
This is soooo good! Darcey is enthralling. Great read!
Thank you! Freaked a few friends out, LOL, so mission accomplished!

Fantastic story! The narrator is a perfect character with an unforgettable voice. Now I’m wondering what’s next for young Darcy…
Thank you. At the moment, she’s hanging around in the back of my mind, on the move with he mother’s mirror… Thank you for reading it.

If only revenge was that simple...
